Bent pushrod blues

Damn.
Fitting my reco'ed head I have not only chipped a rocker but bent one of my new steel pushrods.
Pretty clumsy and much humble pie consumed.
I have located and fitted a new rocker and straighted  the 'rod but not perfect.
Does it need to be dead straight?
What amount of wonk is OK or should I buy I a buy another new set?

Dead straight. If it was bent then straightened to dead straight it will still have a weak spot waiting to bend again. If it's a little bent it will flex.
It might last a sedate rider for years. Once round the block for me.

If you don't change it you are going to be constantly worrying about that pushrod so I think you will have to get a good one. I guess you will not be able buy them singly from the likes of SRM; what about talking to Andrew at Priory Magneto's?

It might last a sedate rider for years.

Mine did, bent it as a result of seeing what the old girl would do in third (90 something as I recall) so not all that sedate, but this was 1961-2 ish when maybe rods where better

New 'rod courtesy of Mike  Boulton Motorcycles arrived in 13 days door to door.
Great service.
Seems much more difficult for suppliers in Aus to provide similar. Not to mention our poor postal service.
I've put them on my list of prefered 'go to' guys.
Installed , and another lesson learned.
