timing cover with cut-out?
« on: 18.06. 2009 02:41 »
I just found some more A10 bits in a big pile of junk.

There is a timing cover with a circular cut-out in front of the mag. What is this from, or was this some type of modification made at some time in the past?

 Thanks,

Lee.

That is the mounting location for the right-angle tach drive for manual-advance magnetos. Many auto-advance types have that hole but with a cvoer over it.

 Thank you Richard,

I did a search last night and ran into Snowbeards bike with the yellow blanking plate- and then I could not delete my own topic.

And here I thought the cover was missing the yellow part! ;) It looks quite different laying in the pile, at first I thought it was a hole busted in, but its definitely machined (though pretty roughly).

Thank you for taking the time! living in the heart of Harley Davidson country, you just cannot believe the amount of "parts piles" laying in sheds, barns, and back porches I have run into- all Harley stuff though. Now if I could just find a big pile of A10 stuff...
