ANZAC Day
« on: 24.04. 2018 19:42 »
To all our Aussie and Kiwi mates - Best Wishes for Anzac Day - don't get losing the beeza playing two-up.

The photo is my Grandad, in his hospital 'blues', taken on 3rd August 1915 (back row extreme right of photo). He landed at Gallipoli 'V' Beach on the 25th April and lasted a few weeks before being wounded and shipped back.

Thanks mate.
Unfortunately I have to work today but may be finished by the time two up starts. I'll ride the A10 cafe to work but not to the two up.
Cheers

Attended the Busselton dawn service this morning a beautiful morning cloud free sky very moving, my uncle survived Gallipoli but was killed in France just before the end of the war in 1918

Bugga, I missed two up. Spent the day on the end of a jackhammer.
I don't know of any relo's who served in WW1, my grand uncle lost both legs in WW2. He taught me how to use a lathe and helped in getting me an apprenticeship at AGL as a F&T.
Cheers

Had to look up ANZAC day. Here in the USA we have Veterans Day, which sadly doesn't seem to be as appreciated as it should be. I didn't see anything about "two up"??

I suppose we just have Remembrance Sunday here in the UK. Although with a nod on the actual day (11th) also.

My Grandmother never liked it. Said it reminded her of the war.
