New Crankshaft Pinion removal tool

Found this on ebay this morning :

THE SELLER HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ME etc
I just wondered if the tool was a Lifesaver or a waste of time and money?
The seller had them made up and hails it as a success .. what do you folks think ?

Looks good to me and, I believe, the next time I need to pull off the pinion I'm going to wish I had one. Nevertheless, unlikely for me to spend that much coin for somthing I've rigged up in the past with a cheap puller for about $10.

I use one of these. Good for 100's of jobs, not just 1.

When I was rebuilding my A10 I contacted SRM who were going to do the crank re there imput for where to locate a puller for this job wanting to do it "right " there reply was 2 large screw drivers behind the cog will pop it off . Well it worked much to my surprise it just went clonk and was off no damage and in no time . Was I just lucky ??

Like Musky, I have a similar kit picked up at an autojumble tool stall.  Very versatile - and strong!

That normally works but I have actually had them that tight that I have milled a special puller and broken that even with oxy/ace on it

That one I had to put into an engineering shop to get it off and they told me it was ridiculously tight
