I've ordered the Leighton's kit, for £96, and will attempt to do the refurb myself. He told me that I would not do it as well as he would (which is sort of obvious), but it's a learning process, and if it looks good after, and feels comfortable, I will feel some satisfaction.

I got my old seat out of the loft today. My intention was to strip, sandblast it, paint it and send it off to Leightons. The base was rotten beyond repair, must have sat in the rain in a previous life. Absolutely gutted. New seat on way £££££'s
