Need an engineering shop near Vancouver
« on: 27.12. 2017 09:45 »
I have been speaking to my brother who lives near Vancouver about him getting on with restoring his A10. He was thinking of having the bottom end shipped over to the UK to get an SRM timing side conversion done but I think I have talked him out of that. He is still thinking of sending it over to me as it seems the people he used to go to are no longer around and for me to get it done here. What he wants done is to get the crank big end journals checked out and ground if need be and the timing side journal cleaned up and new bush fitted and reamed. I think there must be somebody around his part of the world who can be trusted to do this and I know there are a number of members from the same area who, I hope, may be able to give a recommendation for me to pass on.
Thank you.

Mongoose for cylinder/head work and another company in Chilliwack for the crank.
I'll post the name in a few days when I'm home and can look it up. We are in Memphis TN for Christmas at the moment.

Hi John

I saw that Scotty had posted a local crank rebuilder so I got lazy on that one.
I'll enquire this week.

Tough to answer, we do things differently here.
We move everything by packhorse. Most trading is done by an exchange of fur.
Its a slow paced world here in Canada. We just got colour TV in the igloo last year. Not much on, just the Weather Channel and Hogan's Heroes reruns.
