 Yup- the (trick) question was so quick everyone read it quick- self included (initially) ;)

 The answers have been generally quicker- I could only give a spanner style suggestion as I've never seen the SRM nuts Cush or Sprocket, but 1,1/2"  sounds most likely...I went off to measure something but now can't remember what *bash*


Started building in about 1977/8 a on average '52 A10 -built from bits 'n pieces never resto intended -maybe 'personalised'
Have a '74 850T Moto Guzzi since '92-best thing I ever bought doesn't need a kickstart 'cos it bump starts sooooooooo(mostly) easy

The nut.

When I bought it I asked SRM what sized spanner was needed, then sourced a very long  1 1/2 AF ring spanner. Not too expensive.

 yep-I still reckon a floggin' spanner if the box is out of the frame, but if a welder is available, easy enough to cut a socket in half *work* above the '12 points', and separate the halves and weld a piece of tube over them so it's long enough... *good3*
