Sorting carb out
« on: 10.02. 2018 12:43 »
Just got back from its maiden voyage to get a valuation.
Problem is, it will only run right with the choke pulled right back.
Could it be the main jet wants cleaning out ?

Cheers,
Roy.

Are you sure that the choke is not doing the opposite of what you think?

How can I reverse the choke ?
When I pull the choke lever it is pulling the cable, OK.
Is this giving more choke ?

Given correct assembly of carb and cable adjustment then,

If the cable is fully slack the choke is on.

If fully tight its off.

Thanks Julian.
It runs OK when cable is fully tight.  *smile*
I was trying to run with the cable fully loose.

You assumed correct, I thought that the choke was off and all the time it was on.

I did that when I collected my new Commando from Gander and Gray in 1971. The salesman came out and humiliated me in front of the other customers. Never done it again.
