Snow in Plymouth now, but only about an inch. Apparently worse tomorrow.

got a good 4/5 inches here and still falling, had the dog out ( he loves it) met a young lad walking, he had brought his mate out to one of the cottages then got his car stuck down the road a bit, had to abandon it in the middle of the road (fantastic - heed the warnings ) we are four miles from the nearest village 7 miles from the next.

I took the dog out to a local football ground for her exercise. She loved it but my goodness it was cold in the strong Easterly wind!  *sad2*

They're not look at the first one of mine , see the red gutters on the Hall behind the car, otherwise it's snow (white or yellow  *eek*) and no greenery cause it's winter.
Get's to the point where it's not so funny, this is the road into the nearest village which we need to pass through, I need a prescription picked up in five days time so hoping for a change in the weather or a snow plough ( for fellow rural dwellers it's a big yellow thing you might have seen on the news).
The farm now under new ownership has a plough on a tractor ( I used to drive it in winter) but I no longer work so can't just get kitted up and go and take it out to clear roads as I used to.
Don't know how many ploughs the Council has now after all the cuts, what they have are probably following each other up the A1 so just have to sit it out I guess
God I'm getting to be a grumpy old whinge, Dogs back in though

CLEARLY shows quite indiscernibly 'red gutters' and slightly more discerible red-ish tail lights on the car- my bad *bash* *smile*

On the other hand, only made it up to 36º/37º here today, a bit sluggish...reminds me of the days when I dug holes for a living (as in I physically made the aperture in the ground, and then had the opportunity to sit and appraise it- digit *conf2* dug it man...) oh yeah learned to stab a crowbar into the ground rather than lay it down.....kinda like working with spanners and metal bar and stuff and leaving it in the sun....almost burned crap outta my fingers today, except lucky that i picked it up where I already burned them yesterday *eek*...anyway G-B, you're early; it wasn't even your spring when you started this, so maybe you hexed yerself, it'll instantly warm up now    *smile*  *smile*

Apologies guys for posts referring to pics that are not there, I'm having trouble getting such post to actually post, just get a white screen, think it might be something holding things up, have tried altering the file type, all files under 750KB and so forth, then one will suddenly go, can't work it out unless as one messages stated ( website my be under maintenance )

^^^ pictures seems to be there ok? Posts (just) fine from here on my varying 0.5 to 2 Mb rural 3g. With some slow or intermitent internet connection, the picture upload can time out in the middle of the upload, which produce different 'symptoms'. btw, max filesize is upped to 1500k some time ago (generally faster internet (nearly) everywhere, more server storage space).

-----------------------

Here's what met me this morning, car disapeared under snow, + blocked by 1m+ of heavy snow fence, courtesy the kind work of the road maintenance guys (very good by the way except for the blocking, they are there early even on this remote sideroad). Anyway, just have to clean it up and continue trying to make an exit *angry*

And this time the French have a right to complain, more than 50 cm many places, that's disruptive, not the 3 cm they generally moan about.

"Sir Peter Hendy, Chairman of Network Rail told us today, ‘We will not risk the lives of our passengers and staff when there is a light dusting of snow possibly forecast, we apologise for the inconvenience and assure customers that we hope to be cancelling trains for more normal reasons, such as industrial disputes and appalling management, as soon as possible.”
