Please can I ask for advice?
As part of a '53 A10 plunger project I've had the wheels rebuilt with new bearings. Now the front brake plate is sitting slightly proud of the wheel hub, leaving a small gap (4mm) through which I can see the brake shoes. The new sealed bearings, which came from Feked, are seated properly. If I take the hub bearing locking ring out on the brake assembly side, the brake plate assembly now sits in properly so I'm wondering if the new bearing is wider than the original. With new sealed bearings, can I leave the locking ring out? Alternatively, is there something else I've not done properly or should check?
