Little story here. I heard about my A10 for sale from the son of the owner. He (the owner) was in his late 70s with cancer but was still pretty shrewd. After chatting for a bit, he showed me the bike which was complete with some spares, including new downpipes. It had been in his garage untouched for 10 years. When I asked how much, he said £1200, Yes, £1200.

Instinctively, I said £1100 (you've got to barter). He said ok so long as I was going to ride it and not sell it on for a quick buck. I told him I wanted the bike to restore and ride, and I'd bring it back to him when it was complete. I did and he was thrilled (although not well). The deal was even better when he threw in the lift it was on (full size) which I did sell on for £180. £920 essentially bought the bike.

Not sure if the guy is still with us, but selling it at that price allowed me to throw another £4.5k at it to get it into the condition it's in now. It also allowed me to ride it and have a ball, exactly what he would have wanted.
