Roadrocket colour...
« on: 06.11. 2006 19:57 »
Hello folks,

This is probably a classic, but I can't find it anywhere that usually deals with these things: is there a good match for the red Roadrocket tank colour. Preferably in terms of a colour for a car known east of the pond, or in form of code that is understood around the same parts of the world? I have seen various shades of red on rockets, but only one that had a credible story to back it up, which was darker and of a more bluish hue than the ones I noemally see.

Hi Otto,

Could I suggest that you contact Polly Palmer, the paint specialist for the BSAOC (UK).  He has original colours available as brush-on or aerosol spray.  If he can guarantee the correct colour you can buy an aerosol spray from him, spray a sample colour yourself and then take the sample to your local automobile paint company who should be able to mix the correct shade for you in any kind of paint system you want.

Polly can be contacted at enquiries@britiemotorcycles.com

I think he accepts PayPal if GBP is a problem.

Good luck.

Beezageezauk.

Thanks Geeza, but attempts to reach Polly Palmer on the said email results in bounces. Also there is no website on the address; does anybody know if business is still open? Does anybody know if a scan made of a given colour is expressed in a universally recognised format? And does anybody have a nice Road Rocket in original trim?  ;)
