Do you know edboy?

edboy offered me a conrod a while ago. I took him up on the kind offer but I've not heard from him for a while. Do you know edboy? If so, would you be very kind and ask him to check his forum personal emails. Thanks.

hi greybeard, be careful with dealing with edboy. he needlessly revs his bike past the red and overtakes on a whim. not the sort we need on this trusty forum.

About 20 years back ( + or -) saw part of an interesting exchange.  2 owners of later 60s BSA twins were comparing notes on their bikes and neither had matching number Motors/frames and upon examination discovered each one had the others frame/motor combo.  It was suspected that the local dealer back in 68? or so had probably had a warranty issue or difficult customer.  So, swapped motors with a bike on the shop floor, rectified the engine problem and re-installed it into the other machine.  That was the theory and when asked many years later was told by the same dealer he did such things all the time.
So, being 2 Britt bike owners and significantly different personalities an exchange was proposed but there was a great deal of negotiating due to wildly different perceptions of value.  One of them had paid a very large sum to have his motor rebuilt and was not keen on swapping without full compensation.  The other rider had a much lower opinion of that shops work so was dismissive of the costs.

A sticky wicket.

And many of those reasons had nowt to do with engines, unless you reckon the engines were made in the boardroom
