2018 IOM TT
« on: 04.06. 2018 10:27 »
G'day fellas.
Just watched the Superbike TT I downloaded. M Dunlop won another one. But it was Dean Harrison that stole the show by smashing the lap record on the 1st lap from a standing start 134.4 MPH average! Unfortunately he retired on lap 4 giving Dunlop the race.
I'm now listening to Manx radio waiting for the start of the Supersport race in 15 minutes.
Do not disturb sign is out.
Cheers

Have a good time !

& damn I don't have my astra 28e (uk freesat, itv, bbc etc) sat dish mounted here ftm (norway).

And my (mobile ftm) internet speed \ monthly data is not good for streaming either!

Anyway, IOM coverage is here > http://www.filmon.tv/tv/itv4 for anyone to try, but the Mb's fly by as fast as the bikes :O) and seems to need something like 7.5 to 10 Mbps to be fluid in SD.

Now testing their mobile site (android), actually works good , fluid and less data usage, but needs registration. Will maybe go for that, as it seems useful.

M Dunlop has won his 17th TT with an average speed of 125mph over 4 laps including two 1 minute pit stops and best lap of 129mph breaking the lap record. Aussi Josh Brooks 6th.
I was listening to radio and watching the live timing.
Cant see itv4 on that link but I like this station http://www.filmon.tv/tv/bikini-down-under

^^^ lol, so very useful after all :O) There's other stuff as well, like horror channel with horribly bad low budget B movies, quite funny.

Maybe the UK freesat channels are blocked in some english speaking countries, works in Norway & France.

Wasn't it Connor Cummins that handed Michael Dunlop the race win. *???*

G'day fellas.
By the end of lap 2 Harrison had 15 seconds up on Dunlop, lost 5 seconds on lap 3 but was still 10 seconds up but retired on lap 4. Yes Connor was 2nd 55 seconds behind Dunlop.
Bugga, I nodded off in front of the nerd box and missed the call (11pm my time, up since 5am).
Superstock won by Hickman who lost about 20 seconds on the 1st lap missing a braking point then smashed the lap record catching up doing a 134.4mph lap and winning by 5 seconds.

I watched highlights of the Supersport race. At one point the on screen speed indicator read over 160 mph; on a 600cc bike, down a country lane...
What can you say?

Not enough fffff's in ffffun!
I'll have to wait till August when the Duke DVD arrives. Got every year since '85.
If I win Lotto I'll have to go over again.

Three fatalities thus far, two of them racing. Brilliant but such an unforgiving place to race!
1961 A10SR, spent a fortune at SRM
1961 A7SS, finally the right green
2011 New addition 1937 Empire Star, twin port, high pipes. Turned out to be the most unreliable bike I have handled.
2017 finally found the liner/barrel were flexing and causing all the overheating/nipping up. Early B33 barrel fitted and it's reliable at last!

It is very sobering. But the thrill/danger is intoxicating.

Great ride by Peter Hickman to win his first TT so close to outright lap record on basically showroom bike and running on treaded tyres against the best road riders.
1960 Super Rocket, owned since 1966, back on the road 2012 after being laid up for 29yrs.

Peter Hickman what a rider, over shot a bend and lost 11 seconds but still went on to win.  Great riding on treaded tyres.
