Hi folks trying to reuild a 59 A7SS. I seem to have all the parts for the wheel--correct hub, sprocket... but a slightly weird half-spindle ( dummy spindle)Looking for what I have done wrong here, enclosed pix of each half of my 59 FW hub
1) The spindle nut sold me 42-6077 is too big for my half-spindle ( presumed a 42-6325) However I found in my assortment of large used 20 TPI nuts one that does.
2) So fitted the sprocket distance collar as see
to the sprocket side, and done up the 42-4320 rear spindle all the way with the brake side spacer 47-6330 .
If the distance collar e does not go there, the sprocket nuts will foul the swinging arm so that must be it's position IMO, despite the parts book.
3) However as in IMAGE 2 there now remains a gap on the brake side.
All I am missing fitting is the large spindle washer, the dummy spindle washer and the dummy spindle nut. Sure surely those are not going to make a difference?
BSA parts book is hardly a help on this rather baffling wheel.
