hi dutch, the pics i put up were from the corresponding manuals, that is all i know, cheers
..( pics from the manuals one is from 1949-1953 the other is from 1954-1957)
I looked at that too.. In the 1954-1957 manual it shows the plunger configuration, AND the Swing arm configuration a few pages after... In your BSA Spares book (1954-1957) Plate 12 is Plunger, and Plate 14 is Swing arm

 Actual kiwi, sorry I think I've stuffed up, I  think I only saw one pic,  but those two pics look identical to me, and are Plunger ones.....I think I need my eyes tested, but Swing arm and plunger models are in the same '54-'57 parts list that I have,  but further down, and all the internal components are different

  Back at the ranch now so adding a screenshot of '54-5 S/A hub from the list I have...

**Later Edit; Figure that a Piccie with drawings and numbers works better with a Piccie with the Numbers, more numbers, and Words so added it....;
Started building in about 1977/8 a on average '52 A10 -built from bits 'n pieces never resto intended -maybe 'personalised'
Have a '74 850T Moto Guzzi since '92-best thing I ever bought doesn't need a kickstart 'cos it bump starts sooooooooo(mostly) easy
