hi guys, yeah nice back in the 60,s that,s how we used to connect copper waste/vent pipes before they invented `silfos`and plastic pipes not seen today but gas welding/brazing is very therapeutic, cheers

was going to ask that myself ellis then a distant part of my grey cells recalled some of what I was told many many years ago.
Other will probably correct my recollection if not totally correct.
Brazing can be brass and can be bronze or others, unlike welding it does not melt the parts to be joined, more like soldering  it sticks and flows into any cavities between parts.

That's why I asked as brazing flows and this looked like welding.

My son came over on his alluminium framed bicycle. The ally welding around the headstock looked very similar to that picture. I imagine his frame would have been TIG welded.
