 Lets see,

 Real story I imagine goes like this.

 BSA motorcycle quit running, no amount of hardware store wood screws could get it to go.

 Old Johnson snowmobile lost its track and bogie wheels, still runs but not worth buying a track for.

 Slap the two together, it never really worked at all.

 Too ugly to leave in shop, so push out into the tall weeds and forget about it.

 At one time I suppose Minnesota, Wisconsin, and upper Michigan each had as many snowmobiles as motorcycles.

 BSA motorcycle quit running, no amount of hardware store wood screws could get it to go.

 Old Johnson snowmobile lost its track and bogie wheels, still runs but not worth buying a track for.
