Well... This does not usually happen to me but I came across this guy who had recently inherited a BSA in bits and was going to sell it all as he was not a motorcyclist and had no spare time to finish putting it together from where his Father left off. I asked him how much he was asking for it and he wanted around £400 for the lot.
I scraped every pound anyone in the household had as the banks were shut late Saturday afternoon until Monday and arranged to go over and meet him that Saturday evening. I've never seen so much stuff lying around... Mini cars, kit cars, engines etc etc. All the motorcycle stuff was A10 and just about enough parts to put together two bikes. Some of the stuff was rubbish and needed binning but one or two real gems were there too, namely a RRT2 gear box, alloy head, and timing inner covers with the rev counter attachments.
This will keep me busy for sometime to come, not really sure where to start or what to do. Oh! and not a spot of red paint in sight! Enjoy the photos...
