Round or oblong bar end mirrors.

Perhaps a bit of a frivolous question this really but here goes. What would be/work best on an A7SS round bar end or oblong style chrome mirrors?  I am favouring the small round ones at the moment but could be swayed towards the others. Thoughts, please. Thanks.

I have one round mirror. I changed the mirror insert for a slightly convex one.

Whatever your taste but don't buy those from your pictures. The fixing system is absolute rubbish.

I have fond memories of our Vauxhall Viva... The Halcyon mirrors are the ones to get. I like the better rear view (oo er missus) you get with the Viva shaped mirrors.

I agree, the handle bar fixing is robust and actually works, and they are beautifully made. I have had mine for years and they still look brand new.

I bought the Halcon round bar end mirror but even with the shims removed its slightly too big to fit into the handlebar of my A7. I have emailed Halcon and waiting thier reply.

Are you sure you ordered for 7/8" bars and not 1"? Either that or your bars are made from thicker wall tube. Most new bars these days have a burr on the inside edge, file it out.

They say fits from 7/8" to 1" but I will check for a bur on the inside tomorrow. Thanks.

The old eyes like a bigger mirror but the thing I have found with all odd shaped mirrors is they tend to move around a lot more than the round ones.
When I had them fitted I could never get the head done up tight enough to stop them turning in.
Fine if you are a narcissist not so good if you are parranoid.

The best way to fit these is to throw the metal expander thingy away and replace it with a short piece of garden hose.
When the bolt is done up the hose compresses and expands and holds it tight.
