Compared with modern bikes, our gearboxes are a bit slow and notchy. Well, all my BSA and Norton boxes have been. Which is why when I recently rebuild my GF I installed a roller camplate plunger instead of the original cone shaped item. The difference is amazing - positively silky changes. I don't know if they are commercially available, because I made my own after seeing a picture of one online some while ago. Well worth changing, in my view. Photo of device attached.

 Hej RD, maybe you could edit the title to be a bit more specific ?

  My Plungers' shifter is actually quite smooth and precise, but I remember reading about this roller pin a while ago- seemed like a good idea
Started building in about 1977/8 a on average '52 A10 -built from bits 'n pieces never resto intended -maybe 'personalised'
Have a '74 850T Moto Guzzi since '92-best thing I ever bought doesn't need a kickstart 'cos it bump starts sooooooooo(mostly) easy
