Some years ago, after returning home on my A65, I stopped at the end of the driveway pick up my mail. I left the bike running, and just leaned it over on the side stand. (I almost always use the center stand, but was feeling lazy that day.) Immediately, there was a terrible screeching sound! Upon investigation, I found a that the timing pointer inside the primary cover had scribed a perfect circle on the alternator rotor. The crank endplay was that much! If that hadn't happened, I'm sure I would have continued happily riding that bike until a rod came through the case. Of course there's no timing pointer on an A10, but I agree that the bike is trying to tell you something.
