Help wanted (get the tappet cover back on)

Hello you beautiful bsa A7 owners near Malvern in Worcestershire can anyone help me put my a7 back together I just changed the gasket at the top of the engine but I’m having a really horrible job trying to get the tappet cover back on.

It's about the rocker box > getting the push rods correctly in place ?
Can be a funny job (aka tricky and irritatingly difficult :O) Lot's of info on the forum

ok, so it's just the 2 rocker box covers? Should be fine when taken off and replaced in exact same position, but not so friendly when swapped and turned, I marked them to identify intake - exhaust - top. If for some strange reason any bent stud(s), obviously best to replace. File cover hole(s), a last resort but ok if minimal, imo.

 One of the studs is hanging up.

 Use a marker to blacken inside the cover holes, and try to install cover.

 Where ever the marker is disturbed is where the stud is hitting.

 You can put a nut on the stud and try to tap it into alignment.

 I would try and avoid filing out a hole if you can.
