I get a little oil at the bottom of the rubber hose that connects the two halves of the rocker feed pipe so I had the bright idea (well maybe not so bright  *doh*) to do away with the rubber hose and connect the pipe with a nice neat pipe connector (as picture).

I’ve always thought the rubber hose connecting the pipe was a bit makeshift but never really thought anything more about it . . .  until my wife queried whether vibration might cause the rigid pipe to crack or crack at the banjo connectors  *red*. Now she's feeling very pleased with herself  *eek*.

Yes GB, I see rigid & plunger have a continuous pipe - so different to the swinging arm. I know the plunger oil tank arrangement is very different to the swinging arm but I'm not familiar with its actual set up. There must be a good reason why it was changed for the swinging arm and a flexible rubber joint seem to point to a way of alleviating possible vibration stress.

(Edit): Or it could have been a BSA designers prize-winning  *idea* of shortening or lengthening their existing or wrong size pipes?

Yes Roy, pt no 42-48, I'm curious now why it was changed for 1960.

Am I the only one on here with a 1960 - 62 A7 or A10?

I came across that a few years ago when I was looking for a return line fitting for my Plunger
