I thought I had a good idea (rocker feed oil hose)

I get a little oil at the bottom of the rubber hose that connects the two halves of the rocker feed pipe so I had the bright idea (well maybe not so bright  ) to do away with the rubber hose and connect the pipe with a nice neat pipe connector (as picture).

I’ve always thought the rubber hose connecting the pipe was a bit makeshift but never really thought anything more about it . . .  until my wife queried whether vibration might cause the rigid pipe to crack or crack at the banjo connectors  . Now she's feeling very pleased with herself  .

Yes GB, I see rigid & plunger have a continuous pipe - so different to the swinging arm. I know the plunger oil tank arrangement is very different to the swinging arm but I'm not familiar with its actual set up. There must be a good reason why it was changed for the swinging arm and a flexible rubber joint seem to point to a way of alleviating possible vibration stress.

(Edit): Or it could have been a BSA designers prize-winning  of shortening or lengthening their existing or wrong size pipes?

mmmm mine was one piece when I got the bike all those years ago with some very nice bends and kinks  , but didn't leak

Both of mine, the 60 A10 and 61 A7 have the rubber connector.
