Which valves for 67 1126 head?
« on: 03.11. 2018 15:21 »
Good Afternoon from wet and windy Northumberland.

While waiting for my crankshaft to return from the machine shop and desperate for some small success I thought I would have a look at the head, *eek* It's a 67-1126 which I think is correct for a Road Rocket but no 2 valves are the same . I have : 67-743, 67-742,  67=324 and something that looks like it came from an Austin 7 or a mini  *dunno*
The seats and guides seem ok so a new set of valves seems to be the way to go but which ones?
Any advice welcome,
Cheers
Pete

Wow! Superfast service.
The pub sounds like a good idea. At least I can't spend money on motorbikes there ;)

   Hi Pete,
Do a search for Alpha Bearings in Dudley, West Midlands. For many years they were the one company that offered outstanding service to guys like us with engine problems. They manufactured and repaired roller big end cranks and also offered a huge range of motorcycle valves.
Sadly the original owner is no more, but the business is now under the ownership of   Autocycle,  another long standing local name. The valve catalogue is still on line, but whether they are actually trading at present I do not know.

Should point you in the right direction.

Take care matching the collets to the valves, as there are variations in the size and profile of the valve stem where the collet fits.

    Swarfy.
