What is this?
« on: 02.12. 2018 06:06 »
Saw this 'Barn find' recently and don't know it's maker. Looked European to me, so thought one of our friends on this forum could identify it please.

No idea, but looks complete enough to be not such a big headache.... had a thought the image may have been reversed, but drive chain and something else dispel that.... looks good though

Hi All
Agreed it looks French,
There were hundreds of different French manufactures pre WW2
I visited a collector near the French Swiss border a few years ago and was well taken aback with the number of makes that I had not never heard of  *eek*

Klaus beat me to it. It's been fun looking for it. What I saw was Peugeot P108, about 1935.

Richard L.

EDIT: Yeah, after more looking around, I'm feeling pretty good about P108.

I had no idea the French made so many mc’s pre WWII
I really dig the Art Deco posters used to advertise the French mc marques back in the day

Have fun with the bike

G'day Tomcat.
Remember we banned everything French back in the 70-80's for letting those A bombs off in our backyard (Pacific), but were quite happy to have the Poms make a little dust in the outback.
Cheers
