Tribsa project
« on: 19.12. 2018 18:57 »
Hi
its been a long to write here but my project is still there..nothing done.
I did found a bsa A10 swing arm so im ok as about the frame
My worries now is about the engine i will use
its a tr6 1971 and as u know it was in an OIF ..so i think i read once somewhere that u cant use the original A10 oil tank without some
modifications..
Any ideas?
Thanks

G'day Emilios, long time no see.
I doubt if anyone on the forum has attempted a project like yours but Tribsa's were a popular custom in the day. It will be a bit of trial fit and modify as you go.
I know of one not too far from me that I might see again (can't say when).
Cheers

i have a t120 engine in my a10 swing arm . oil tank fitment is no problem.
however to get the engine low enougth i removed the middle tube and the bottom crosstube of the frame. then had to fabricate a pair of lugs in the bottom front craddle for the bottom engine stud.
not easy. i would spend the money on a good bsa engine and belt drive instead.
i ve had a preunit t110 engine and gearbox in a a10 frame and thats a straightforward engine plate set from unity equip - if they are still going. i remember the slickshift gearbox was a delight.

Emilios,

I know nothing about TrBSAs, but it's good to hear from you. Regards to your brother and the other folks I met when in Nicosia. I miss Cyprus.

Emilios,

Getting to Cyprus was a lot easier when traveling on other peoples' money. Maybe, some day, my wife and I can travel to the Eastern Mediterranean on vacation. After all, some day we have to retire (maybe  *conf*).

Hi emilios

I had a t120 in a B33 frame and am sure it was a straight plate conversion, oil tank I think was pretty std return through the top stuff.
These guys can sell you plates and probably advise

Hi Emilios,
I ran a 650 triumph unit in my A10 for a while. The only issues were engine mounts. Once u have the chain inline fire up the grinder and mount the engine. U will now have an alternator and points so the wiring needs a little splicing. I used a Honda 50 switch, zenor diode with heat sink and a cheap rectifier. (Normal triumphs setup)
The oil tank will work fine. I mounted my coils in the tool box along with ignition and other wiring connections.
I’m on holls at the mo and won’t be back home till mid Jan. I’m sure I have my old engine plates somewhere. Will have a root when I’m back.
Just to say, by the way, the trumpet in the Beeza went like a hot snot 👌
