Colour Codes not BSA

I have a vintage Italian Scooter that has been resprayed an awful yellow colour. It is similar to KIA, VW and other small cars produced in Yellow..But not close enough. I seem to remember that some paint suppliers have scanners to match the paint. Has anyone come across system and how effective it is. I am in Essex if you are aware of such supplier, thank you.

Just asked my son as he works there Halfords only mix to a colour code, they can not scan it.

   Whether you want to match the present colour or choose a new one, all body shops have a huge choice of colour swatches, catalogued by make, model year, primary colour etc.  Just take your pick. From the colour chosen they then mix according to the formula for that colour swatch. That's how out in the sticks they can mix matching paint for the world's most exotic and exclusive supercars, or the sole surviving Ford  baccy truck or ute.

  Simply choose someone local, they should have no problem mixing colour coat your requirements.

BTW - When FDs were redoing my A10 tank, underneath it all we found some nice unfaded A7 polychromatic green so they made a match before it was all stripped for chroming.
