Plunger brake pedal
« on: 25.04. 2019 22:27 »
I was having a chat with Russ yesterday about the plunger brake pedal.
He was querying the stop screw shown on the parts sheet. He was at a loss as to where it fitted.
I had a look at my collection of pedals and found out of four, one has provision for an adjuster.
I am curious as to when this modification took place, two pedals are still on their frames and are 1951 models and don't have adjusters so I assume that this mod was introduced some time after 1951.
Any ideas?

I went through this before and my guess from the parts lists is that they're introduced after '53 for '54 onward ...

My engine is '53 but think frame is ~'56. I have a non-adjuster pedal in use and bought an adjuster pedal on fleabay, but the prick never sent it *bash*
Started building in about 1977/8 a on average '52 A10 -built from bits 'n pieces never resto intended -maybe 'personalised'
Have a '74 850T Moto Guzzi since '92-best thing I ever bought doesn't need a kickstart 'cos it bump starts sooooooooo(mostly) easy

Seems logical that they are for the BA7 frame.

I'm pretty sure you are right Trev, 1953 seemed to be a year they introduced quite a lot of small changes over all the models. I think late in 53' there were even more changes just at the point they were moving to the swingarm models.

My engine and frame are late 53.  54 model year I think and the bike has the adjuster screw. I've just refitted it.
Brian - yes, mine has lots of 54 features.

My 51 (52 model year) has it fitted, but who knows, it might have been bent and swapped at some point in it's 68 years..
