Piled arms on timing cover
« on: 16.06. 2019 18:49 »
I'm not sure I'm in the right section of the forum here, though the question is about the engine  *conf*.
I am wanting to fill the piled arms on the timing cover of my 53 flash with red pigment.
I used to do it with red Hermetite, this doesn't seem to be available any longer.
Does anyone have any suggestions please?
Adrian

Red paint? That's what I used.

AdrianJ you could have been a little bit more informative--imaginative?? *whistle*---  and said something like--- "I think they stopped putting them on in the mid 1950's but I don't really know anything about them-or anything else for that matter *lol* *grins* so I recon you and I will be better off going to the PUB! *beer*".. --- I agree pub it is then *beer*

Bergs. The timing cover variants were examined in detail way back in October 2018, under "S/A Outer Timing Cover Wanted"  It is all there, Shrouds, Carrots, Pips.
Sorry folks, I'm good with a hammer, but not too cute to post a direct link.

A dab of any old red paint in the Piled Arms, then wiped back and the cover polished.........that's all it needs.

 Swarfy.
mod edit: This one? https://www.a7a10.net/forum/index.php?topic=13658.msg111386#msg111386

Additional.  Thanks Ed. for posting the link.
