A Longstroke Conrod bolt to hand measures 52.6mm/2.07" Under head to end of thread. Any aftermarket bolt will also require a fettle to fit the head seat on the rod.

As for a torque setting I have made comment on this in an earlier post in this thread. My feeling is that with steel rods the torque recommended by the engine manufacturer for the bolt type specified would be fine...assuming the aftermarket bolts are for a steel rod engine.

Here's mine - 5/16" dia, under head length 2.070" . Cheers
BSARoadrocket had previously written in another post  "If you ever need to replace the bolts in your steel connecting rods don't wrack your brain trying to find the right bolts.  Just use small block Ford V8 289-302 1960's to 1970's era or possibly even new connecting rod bolts.  They are a little longer than the BSA bolt but you can cut them to length and they work beautifully.  I used new ARP (American Racing Products) bolts."
But I know absolutely nothing about Ford V8's!

The ARP bolts arrived that BSARoadrocket recommended - I paid £34.73 all in for 4 bolts and nuts which I thought was reasonable if you weren't in a hurry.
The location diameter isn't as long as the stock one but should locate the cap well enough I think.

In the picture the bolts are still in their shrink wrap and the BSA bolt is to the right

G'day Nourish.
I'm worried the part to locate the cap is nowhere near long enough, only entering the cap 1/3 distance.
I hope I'm wrong.

If you can picture the std bolt up against the conrod the locating diameter length is only about a third of that of the cap any how  - it would be a third in a different position?

Judging by the bolt alongside the rod / cap it locates in the rod by about 13mm. Seems adequate to me.
