GB...Well done for another gem from the archives. If I understand the copy, it is a force fed induction system with conventional  inlet valves, but a piston ported exhaust. So a simple two stroke  with an extremely complicated induction system. Suppose it seemed a good idea at the time, the downside being the blue smoke emissions. Shows what safety factors were built into the basic design, to be capable of modification to produce this performance. Yup, just on the right side of the thin line!

An interesting article indeed 
Harry Lindsay the man responsible for the work was a "Force to be reckoned with" in his day
Harry only passed away on 11/11/18 aged 92
He gathered together quite a collection of bikes in his later life, and continued his interest in "funny" 2 strokes by playing with some Dunelt stepped piston engined bikes
Googling his name will let you read of his exploits

As a side note I recently did some work to put one of Harry's old bikes back on the road
It is mostly a rigid Norton frame with long roadholder forks
Power comes from a 1936 AJS 1000cc V twin engine neatly slotted in
An alternator has been added to the drive end of the crank
Ignition is battery and coil, a modified Lucas points plate with two sets of points and auto advance unit
sit in a one off housing on the right hand side
