Just wanted to check if the timing was out ( much ), as it is the points heel is half way between one ramp and the other at 11/32 btdc, so as our US friends say - a no brainer.

Bill, came across this in "Modern" Motorcycle Maintenance (1953):

Auto advance retarded position: points just commence to separate with pistons at top to 1\16" past top.
