The very late A65 and the A70 rods that went onto be used on T140's were alloy with steel caps. Apparently one of the issues with the alloy rods was loss of oil pressure with expansion on the caps.
Back in the late eighties I snapped a steel rod in a racing beesa single ... the cause not over revving but the worse sin, engine braking! the beesa's brakes were rubbish and I was ignorantly assisting them with down changes. That made a big mess. Learnt that one fast but late.
If you really want to take the chance, new rod bolts and crack test it...
