When it's bursting into life when you slightly lean on the kickstart, you can put the price to the back of your mind.

Yup, that's why I couldn't remember what mine cost!

Decided to treat my K2F mag to some TLC by Priory Magneto's (poor thing had never had any work done to it since leaving the factory) as promised Andrew advised  on condition and reported mag was fine, but we decided to go for  replacement armature and condenser, with a few other bits, final cost was well under £200.00.

Just had my K2F completely re-built, stripped  re-wound coil new bearings and condensor etc £180.00. Its the 5th one done by same bloke  T.Salmon Burnham on Crouch ( actually his son has taken over ) broken cam housing replaced with good s/h one. Looks like new too. Never had any problems from any of them. Its the first job I automatically have done to a newly acquired machine, with unknown provenance I don't wait for it to start playing up. As has already been said, a failed Mag isn't a road-side repair.

Are you down that way yourself?

Hi Cyclobutch, yes B-on C for the past 37 yrs. Despite the reticence on your profile I somehow think we may have met some time or other.

Apologies for the delayed response, must have missed this one. I don’t get out much to be honest, and I don’t look much like that kid on the Puch chopper in my avatar these days.

Used to do what we called ‘the seawall walk’ as an annual exercise back when I was in the Scouts. That was along the wall from St Peter’s at Bradwell around to Burnham. Usually in early spring.

I just had Dougs Cycle barn rebuild mine with new winding, bearings/bushings, cap, easy cap with the condenser relocated out front for easy change in the future  for $580 .   Would have been 80 bucks cheaper but my housing was beat to crap so he has another .   It looks brand new and it runs awesome .
