Thank you guys,
Snow, I am finding this to be much more fun then any old V-8. Its still a little daunting because I am never too positive!
David, I look forward to what your notes say- and thank you for the help. If I am going to try and set this up, I want to make sure I get it right the first time. I am thinking slow speed grind, just plain water as coolant. I will catch the radius using the rotary table. I still have to come up with a jig that will hold it all after its clocked in.
Hi Goldy, yes I will have to re-harden them. For this I need to know about what they were sent from the factory at. I am pretty sure I can get close by heating them too color, then a quick dip in oil followed by a polish. Then I will have to wait until the wife is gone, they will go right into the kitchen oven for probably 2 hours to relieve the stress. Does anyone see any pitfalls to what I plan to do here?
Thanks,
Lee
