Barrel spigot

Hi Everyone

I picked up a thick flange barrel to replace my current very battered thin flange barrel and it has a small spigot protruding from the pushrod tunnel (see photo).
Has anyone got any ideas what it might have been for?
I was wondering if it may have been part of an additional breather system.
At the moment I'm planning to remove it (it's threaded in) and fit a blank to restore the original look.

Extra lube supply for the followers  *dunno* or camshaft? (if the followers are modified with grooves)

G'day Tim.
Doubt it would be a breather as there's a lot of oil/oil mist in there. More than likely Kiwi is right.(but I wouldn't bet my bike).

Looks a bit big bore for an oil feed, but then again not really a good place to put a breather as a lot of oil mist there which is best left to do its job. Perhaps that was the only bit of tube to hand. As its threaded, blanking off presents no problem, or even a chance to push the boundaries with some experimentation.

That's screwed into the barrel casting. A PO mod? Or an attachment for the spill tray?

Its only threaded on the end that screws into the barrel, so I don't think it would have been an additional fixing for the drip tray.

IT would be  a breather tube for a flow through system using the existing timed breather
So it is in through the push rod tunnel & out via the primary

So would there have been a pipe from this spigot to another one on the primary case?

No,
A pipe on it to a check valve fitted to suck not blow
Then either use the Std breather or pop the oil seal between the crank & primay
Put a drain back hole as per 70-72 twins & B 50's then an OUT tube from the primary with a check vale so it sucks only.
