AM:
Just fitted the tank and panels to my Kawasaki Z1 Super Six, after first fitting a new cap, tap and badges from Z-Power. I’m quite pleased how it’s turned out and can’t wait to put some miles on it once the current lockdown is relaxed.

My second Z1 Super Six engine is progressing slowly, this one is 1522.5cc, next job to do is make the copper head gaskets when the copper sheet arrives, I will be filming the process for one of my “How it’s made” videos.

Wonder if A.M. has Kiwi blood... or maybe they've got Millyard blood!

I guess selling his specials is his source of income.

He is willing to answer questions raised on FaceAche. I asked him about writing a book. He has it in mind but needs help. I requested that he make sure it doesn't dumb down the technical information.

One of my precious books is Specials by John Bolster. John and his brother built the famous four J.A.P engined, (so four litres) special Bloody Mary, that is still in existence, although no longer with four engines. I met John in the 1970's and got him to autograph my copy of his book.

How good is that? Bugger all teething problems.
I would have balanced the carbs before a test ride.

With the carbs set the Z1 is running much nicer, I did another short ride of  15 miles in the afternoon heat and it ran great even in busy traffic. With the headlight on it’s charging at 14.4v so the additional load from the extra ignition coil is fine 😎

Nice ride on my six this afternoon, I’ve just made and fitted the smallest possible 29T rear sprocket thanks to B&C Express for finding me a blank. So I’m now running a 16-29T final reduction and it still pulls like a train from 20mph in top gear, need to sort the electronic rev counter next, i think it’s picking up a stray signal,  I probably need to shield the pick up wire around the coils 😎

Chanced on a re-run of an edition of The Motorbike Show, with Henry Cole. Allen M was featured dismantling a Gold Star motor in a way only the professionals can. No pussyfooting, he knew just where when and how to move a tight piston.

What was more remarkable is that all this A. M. Goodness looks to be done in the space of a normal suburban garage! Unbelievable considering what he manages to create.

Writing a book should be a walk in the park, and he's no doubt got the media savvy  Henry in tow to assist if and when.

 Swarfy.

AM today :
Just Back from the local shop run on my 1967 Yamaha YL1, it’s a great bike for local trips and also longer rides, a few years ago I rode it to Tintagel and back in a day,  around 450miles, flat out all the way and it still did 70mpg 😎

Riding my Super Six today reminded me of my Z1 1600 V8 that I made in the year 2000 with its seemingly endless low down torque. This pic was taken on the isle  of a Man in the Laxey Wheel carpark during TT 2002
