Wanted - seat pan
« on: 24.05. 2020 09:53 »
I am after a seat pan or an old knackered seat that I think was fitted to the earlier A7's or possibly the A10's.
It is the one that dips down at the sides rather than being fairly flat, as is mine.

I prefer the look of those that dip down and want to replace mine.

It has the slide in nose with the two mount bolts at the back.

I talked to Leightons at the back end of last year, but they are struggling to get hold of new pans that they would be happy with. I am looking for something they can use to build a seat on.

I have been keeping a look out on FleaBay, but non have come available.

Peter,

This probably won't be great news for you, but I spent a few years of occasional watching for one of these seat pans. Finally found one in horrible shape in an auction paired with a flat version. The items did not sell so I contacted the seller to ask if he'd sell the one. He did sell it to me and, while this doesn't help your search, perhaps you'd be interested in the pictures and story of my seat restoration.

Richard - Thanks for the link. Makes good reading and well done.

Perhaps one will come up at some point.

Hi Peter. I have a reasonably good plunger A10 seat pan - see attached. Ignore the foam! Is this what you're after? If so I'd be happy to sell it to you for less than their going price (I have no idea) and we live close enough for a personal collection/delivery too! Let me know, Simon

Hi Simon
I am led to believe the plunger version will not fit, but tanks for the offer.

I have done just short of 400 miles on the A7 over the last week and a half.

I will send you a personal email about a ride out sometime. Providing you have a bike to use that is.

Hi Simon

Realised I have mixed you up with another guy on here. Cheshire is a bit far to meet for a 'normal' bike ride.

Meet someday.
