Agree with Klaus. Check the 5 fixings holding on the primary case. The 2 internal wired bolts should be ok but the 3 external screws tend to sink into the external cover plate and touch the crank. The length is critical as there is only some 20 thou clearance inside. On my recently rebuilt A7 the engine locked solid on its first kick over. It was the front 3 screws!

Guns, Klaus thks very much.
I would never have even thght BSA would leave so little clearance against the crank. Those 3 cheese head screws are nice quality pattern items but you never know. Time for a close looksy
