I need a favor from my fellow Super Flash owners. I have five S/F engines and they all have a Roman Numeral V stamped as shown in the image. My four G/F semi-unit motors do not. Were all S/F engine stamped this way?

I checked two of my engines. They both have the 'V' stamping as on yours.

V must be a batch number/ letter from the factory for exported s/f models. but what does the V stand for?

Mine also has the V on it. I also checked a number of pictures of other SF I have and they all have the V on.

Well, it looks like the "V" may indeed be the mark of the beast.

My '54 SuperFlash doesn't have the 'V' but it is the later 'wide fin' moter fitted in 1954. Neither does it have the 'S' in the engine number, but the number has been confirmed correct from shipping records.
