When I use a car, I get in, turn the key and go. With my Firestorm I pull the choke, turn the key, press the starter button and go. With my other bikes I turn petrol on, tickle the carb(s) give it a couple of kicks and go. With the A10 I first of all look for the correct spanner. Then look for a clean draining tray. Then a clean rag to kneel on whilst I grope around underneath for the drain bung (I pity those who have to drop the sump plate). Then, with oil on my hands, wait five minutes for the oil to drain. Then refit the bung. Now go get a funnel and filter and pour the tray's contents back into the tank. Then it's off to the house to wash my hands. What a bundle of fun. I'm not prepared to go through that rigmarole every time I want to ride the bike, which is why I have now put a valve in the oil line. If one day I forget to turn it on, so be it. Maybe the bike will be off the road for a while, but better than never using it because the hassle of preparing it for use means I simply choose a different bike to ride.
