Hi TU
That's a novel method of setting the crank endfloat? I hope that bolt is rigid enough?
It looks like the crankcase has been drilled and a second breather pipe added  *????*
I don't like that idea *ex*
The standard timed timed breather works well once attention is paid to the cork washer thickness on the rotating
"top hat"
An open breather will just add to the pumping losses of the engine as I'm sure you know
Fitting a Bunn breather is the other option ?? (if you can find one)

That's not a second breather, but a change of direction of the original breather passage so I can add a small filter . It's also less likely to leak oil....So you think a grade 8 bolt bottomed out in the hole isn't rigid enough for a dial indicator? *conf*
Breather pumping loses are food for thought but have no effect on performance from my experience racing Triumphs and dyno testing...In my opinion...

G'day Trucky.
I'm also a little concerned about the end float set up. Looks like the magnetic base is on the flywheel and pointer on the bolt. Even the slightest rotation of the crank when pushing/pulling on the crank will give a false reading as the pointer will move on a curved surface.
Cheers

Thanks for the concern, but have no fear, it didn't give a false reading...And as always I checked it by hand feel, barely able to feel any movement when prying the crank back and forth by hand...
