G'day Barry.
Sorry, we do get a little side tracked at times. I try to pull'em into line  *bash*.
So you'll have a s/a frame or plunger motor/gearbox for sale later. I myself could use a set of plunger cases.
The crank/rods/pistons and barrels will fit in either.
Best of luck and good fortune with your adventure.
Cheers

Hi Musky,  I am really impressed with the detail you show in your conversion.  It is far better than my fag packet design, most of the work was trial and error. My design works well and the last time I heard of the bike it was running fine. Sponon Engineering of Derby welded the block in place in the outer cover, it was overdone and not to their usual high standard. Bob Stevenson ( RIP Bob ) was a good mate and helped me with several projects over the years.

Its a shame we are on the opposite side of the planet so unless you can live with the postage costs would it be viable to buy the cases ?  I have no idea what it would cost these days. Can we still send stuff to OZ with this virus still around ?

I still think like a 20 year old but with blanks sometimes, I am now 80 and still ( covid excepted ) do the odd track day at Cadwell and Mallory 1000 bikes.  Its harder to get the bike in/out of the van than it is to race it. Don't be in a hurry to get old guys is not a barrel of laughs.

Must get down to the workshop and start sorting the boxes,  It seems the bike ( rolling chassis ) is on the dvla register but the seller cant find the V5C but is going to apply for a new one. How much is the V5C worth as he wants money for it ?

Any comments welcome.

G'day Barry.
I can't take any credit for the design, it was done by Beeza Bill (RIP). I just copied most of it.
Cheers

Hi Barry,
Check out BSA Bill's website for his bottom end conversion.

Also, do yourself a favour and make one of his gearbox roller detents; great improvement in gear shifting.

He was a top fellow.

Rode his rigid A10 across Australia at least once.

Called in at my shed in Kalgoorlie on his last ride from Perth to Victoria (on his A65). He knew he was dying but wasn't going to stop riding. A group of riders from the BMS were with him.

And here is the man himself.
Les became a neighbour of mine in Spain a good few years ago and we soon got talking about the old Devimead days.
I was actually one of his customers in the 70's when I was racing a 750 BSA sidecar outfit - small world.
These fotos were taken at my villa about 6 years ago along with his immaculate 650 Ariel Huntmaster.
