Hi All from BeezaDan
« on: 22.10. 2020 17:54 »
Hi All, I have read items on the forum for a while as a guest, now nice to be accepted into the fold of like-minded riders. I am a retired engineer, lifetime motorcyclist/petrolhead, living in the UK.
I owned an A7 SS and then a few A10s back in the 70s. Back then the objective was to go as fast as possible, that meant regular engine strip downs on the quest for more power. My initial A7 got rebuilt twice before I gave up and moved to A10s. After seven various A10 rebuilds ended up with a highly modified GF on which I frightened myself a few times, (once or twice badly), but enjoyed every minute. Moved to a No..ton  Com...do, (yes for more speed) and yet more modifying before marriage and kids came along which served to 'tune' my survival instincts plus basically slow me down from the normal warp speed motorcycling to 'reasonably sensible' speeds. Years and several various bikes later kids now civilized human beings and on career paths so the current bike at that time gone and a Trumpet bought (900 Sprint). Good reliable bike but really missed my old A10 GF so took the plunge and after a search a part restored SR arrived. All good till the dreaded smoking exhaust happened. (See full details on the Engines section). Now, hopefully after fixing the smoking issue looking forward to happily maintaining and of course enjoying riding the SR for the next few years.

Wow, Dan, that's some serious A7/A10 cred. This is why intros are so important. They allow folks to appropriately tone responses based on knowing who's being addressed.
