Been lurking here for a while and finally joined.  Lots of useful info and knowledgable folk on here.

Hopefully attached a picture of my recent purchase

Forgot to add, this started life as a 57 DBD34GS, but the engine was purloined for a Norton race bike. A 1960 Super Rocket motor was added, late 60's early 70's. Now an RGS replica I guess. Lots of good stuff on her. Last owner 35 years (and a good friend of my brother). They both know the previous owner as well as the one before that.
History is pretty good.

Welcome.
Put a GS engine in a Norton frame? Would make more sense the other way round.

To me your bike sounds less like an RGS replica and a lot more like an ‘original’ Eddy Dow conversion - when BSA weren’t interested in meeting a demand for Gold Star twins. Certainly interesting and looking good.

Thank you gentlemen, Appreciate the welcome. Did a bit of major work yesterday and fitted the red tank badges.  *smiley4*

Bound to have a few problems along the way. Lucky that the engine has been rebuilt (reground crank, shells and big ends, rebore and new pistons)

It has a 357 cam and the RGS correct head and carb, and an RRT2 box that has the stamps polished out unfortunately.

All seems to start and run nicely (after finding a couple of dry solder joints and repolarising the dynamo) Need some decent weather now.  *smile*

Thanks Terry. Unfortunately, it was built after the release of the RGS, but it is in the spirit of the Dow bikes. Maybe a Goldstar Rocket  *conf*

Welcome gearbox, nice looking bike - can I make one little suggestion (gained from when I restored my last bike) a little bit more packing under the front of the petrol tank will level it up a bit, took me several goes until I got it right
All the best - Bill
1961 Flash - stock, reliable, steady, fantastic for shopping
1959 Rocket Gold Flash - blinged and tarted up  would have seizure if taken to  Tesco
