Not sure I appreciate the primary drive. Would make it a tad difficult to bail out when it all goes pits up.

I remember watching E J POTTER at Santa Pod back in the day outstanding. We even gave him some hi melting point grease for his clutch bearing.
Those were the days drag racing at the Pod.

E J Potter, one of my hero's, a real showman, RIP
I saw him at Surfers Paradise drags years ago.
He never had a clutch. He just revved her up and rocked it off the stand.
He needed all the track as the thing went side ways for the first fifty feet.
There was a rumour he got free tyres from firestone as they unconditionally guaranteed their rubber for some distance or other.
