frame numbers

has anyone ever seen special characters used in the frame number sequence, my documentation has a / within the number so reads ZA7S30/58 could this have been mis read or did they use /

The answer is that it is unlikely because of possible confusion with a 1.

Some 1972 season machine engines are seen with a / after the model prefix - B50T/ for example.

I suspect the intended number would be ZA7S 30158 which is in the 1952 season ZA7S frame sequence.

Can't be those numbers as frame numbers, like engine numbers started at 101.
A number under that was either a works bike or a special order which were usually numbered 001 to whatever the last one was .
Never seen a number with less than 3 digits.

I have seen a car document where the VIN number SAA37xxx said SAA3/xxx on the document. Apparently someone had taken the 7 for a / when registering or re-registering

Does the number on the frame match the document?
