Newbie to forum
« on: 27.01. 2021 23:11 »
Hi all,
Thanks for the add. I'm slowly restoring a 1947 A7. My late Dad was a BSA man & owned a Star Twin & a Golden Flash. I'm a fan of British bikes in general & have a Velocette on the road.

Hi Col,
No it's the Reg No of my A7! I have the original green log book, engine & frame Nos match, so should be able to retain the Reg.
I'm Keith BTW

Hi Keith,
That makes more sense! I started out in 1968 with an A7. Great bike but worn out when I bought it. Still the easiest and most comfortable bike I ever rode. I'm green with envy. Can you post a picture of it?
I have an A10 Golden Flash now, working on it much more than riding it. *sad2*

G'day Keith  *welcome*.
How did you come about the 47? Was it your dad's or similar to his?
I'm sure you've already found the long stroke section.
Best of luck with it.
Cheers

Thanks Muskrat.
It's been a complete basket case for only 30 years! Not my Dad's, I bought it from old gent on my round when I was a postie for absolute bargain price. It was propped against a tree in his garden! Pushed it round to my Dad's & we dismantled it together

Hi Col,
It's still in bits at the moment. Have new parts to rebuild the forks. Camshaft is off for reconditioning. Once these are done I can start putting it back together. I've got photos when it was complete & just got it to my Dad's. Plus I have photos of parts going for painting. I've tried to post some on here but need to thumbnail them  I think
