Hi, in the process of rebuilding a spare S/A gerbox.  I've re-bushed the outer to sort out the wear in the housing and not sure what the alignment is of the operating arm, the bit with the ball in it, should be relative to the arm to which the cable attaches.  In the past I have done it on the bike with the pushrod in situ so it was easy to see.  As it is on a spline, I guess it is intended to be "adjusted", is that so?  If not, should it be be fitted to the spline so it is in line, directly below the cable arm?  Really wanted to avoid having to take the cover off once again.
Thanks

G'day Keith.
Both mine are in line with the arm.
But as you say it's adjustable to allow for wear in the rod/clutch. Use a little R clip instead of a split pin. Then it can be adjusted without removing the outer cover.
Cheers

Thanks for the reply.  Will fit an R clip, very good idea.  Taken far too long to rebuild the gearbox and would probably not got around to do it if we were not in lockdown.  Now just need to decide if I put a gap between the sleeve gear bushes.  That's the last big job. All the best, Keith
